It’s amazing how the weather changes in Mauritius – that’s island life for you!
Yesterday we wanted to go hiking with some friends but it was so wet that we had to stop – simply too slippery for the kids.
Check that out, we couldn’t even see the top. Mind you it was extremly humid, warm and sticky! We had planned to climb le Pouce (the Thumb), that’s the mountain on the left.
Today however is a different story. My Monday morning swim was in the best of conditions: 10am, 30 degrees and a slight breeze.
It is not because the weather is horrible one morning that in the afternoon will necessarily to be the same. It’s not because it’s sunny here that it is not raining somewhere else. I actually think it’s very very rare that there is bad weather all over the island. The north is generally the nicest weather also very very hot during the summer months: it can be raining everywhere and still be decent in Grand Baie. The center is known for it’s rain and colder climate. The south has the driest and the east coast the windiest. But let’s be honest it’s nice everywhere!
